I'm Reading

This is a lower grade website which is interactive and fun. There are several genres of reading. It utilizes the systematic approach of phonics and phonemic awareness for the lower level readers. I would use this as the free choice activity in my K-2 grade classroom.

This site is to be used with Houghton Mifflin reading books. The stories are available on this site and in class and there are interactive questions that pertain to the stories. I would use this site to supplement my reading program especially if my district uses Houghton Mifflin.

A great site to encourage reading, learning vocabulary, and finding a good book to read. This site involves the parents who can track the reading styles and behavior of their child. I would use this site to extend the skills of my existing readers.

Spelling games

Kids can learn to spell by playing games and using their own spelling words or using a list that is on this site. The games get progressively harder and the kids choose which game they would like to play. I would use program in addition to my existing language arts program.

Biology is the science of learning about every kind of life, no matter where it is, or how big or small it is. A biologist is a person who studies life, or who studies biology. This site is colorful, simple, and friendly to use. I would use this site to supplement my current biology lessons.
